September 15, 2018 Thomas Berry Lecture
On September 15, 2018 at Sacred Heart Church (corner of S. Broadway & Ferry Ave., Camden, NJ) John Dear will give the 2018 Thomas Berry Lecture. His talk is entitled “They Will Inherit the Earth: Nonviolence in the Age of Climate Change.” John Dear is a renown nonviolent activist, author of over 30 books and a speaker who has put his own body on the line to advance the cause of justice. Archbishop Desmond Tutu nominated John Dear for a Nobel Peace Prize.
This is a fundraiser for CFET so all proceeds from ticket sales will help CFET continue the amazing programming that takes place for Camden youth and for those who come to spend time with us in our retreat house. On
After the talk we will move to CFET’s gardens for refreshment, an opportunity to purchase John Dear’s books, and to get an autograph from the author.
What is most important about this day is that, in addition to hearing from John, we will hear from our children. They will inherit this earth, and we adults need to listen to them about what they want, what they fear, and what their hopes are. Come join us.
Tickets are $20. Contact Cathy Nevins at 856-816-6373 or at canevins@verizon.net to secure tickets.
